Located within the beautiful Naveli lifestyle shop, this spot is a hidden gem for those who love to shop local and sip slow. It’s a celebration of Mauritian creativity—a place where you can browse unique “Made in Moris” arts, crafts, and decor before settling into a cozy corner with a drink in hand. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and incredibly grounding, making it the perfect escape from the busy center of Phoenix.

Sugar Affair – Ebene
Sweet tooths, this one is for you—but with a sophisticated twist. Located in the heart of the Cybercity, Sugar Affair is a self-described “luxury café” helmed by Zahrah, who is both a cake artist and a nutritionist. This unique combination means you get “couture” pastries made with a conscious approach to quality ingredients. It is the perfect chic spot for an office escape or to pick up a treat box that looks as good as it tastes. Vegan pastries are available too!
Must-try: The gourmet cookie boxes (the Pistachio and Red Velvet are crowd favourites), delicate macarons, Mango and Strawberry Matchas and their signature handcrafted pastries.

Ava Bistrot – Tamarin
Don’t let the location inside a sports club fool you—this isn’t just a protein shake stop. Perched on the mezzanine of RM Club, Ava Bistrot offers a stunning view overlooking the climbing walls and a breezy suspended terrace. It’s a “Bistrot” in the truest sense but with a modern, wellness twist. The menu is designed in partnership with a nutritionist, making it the ideal spot for a guilt-free lunch that doesn’t compromise on flavour. It’s inclusive, airy, and perfect for watching the action below while you sip your coffee.

Café Barbera – Montebello Mall
If you are craving a true “dolce vita” moment, this is your spot. Hailing from Italy with over 150 years of history, Café Barbera has landed in Montebello to show us how the Italians really do coffee. It’s less about rushing with a takeaway cup and more about savouring the moment. The vibe is warm, classic, and unpretentious—perfect for a business meeting or a slow Sunday morning where the only thing on your to-do list is “enjoy.”

Whether you need a solo creative escape or a connection over coffee, the vibe here is all about slowing down and savouring the moment.

It’s a bustling, no-nonsense bakery where the aroma of freshly baked quiches and tartlets hits you the moment you step in. Perfect for when you want to try five different things without the guilt of eating five full-sized cakes!

FiLLi Café – Riche Terre Mall + Kendra Mall + Ebene + La City Trianon
The “Tea n’ Talk” movement is officially taking over. If you haven’t spotted the signature orange branding yet, you will soon. FiLLi has aggressively expanded with four new spots recently, bringing their famous “Zafran Tea” closer to everyone—from the busy executives in Ebene to the shoppers in St Pierre and Riche Terre. The vibe is consistent across all spots: relaxed, social, and centered around the idea that a good cup of chai can solve almost anything. It’s the perfect alternative to your standard coffee shop run, offering a taste of Dubai’s chai culture mixed with some brilliant local fusion.
Must-try: The FiLLi Zafran Tea (their saffron-infused signature is non-negotiable), Bun Maska for a classic dipping snack, and the Chilli Bite Chaat (a fun Mauritian twist using gato piment). For a heavier lunch, the Paneer Tikka Kathi Roll is a winner.

Sunset Café – Grand Baie
You might already know them from their popular spot at the Port Louis Waterfront, but their Grand Baie location is arguably the best seat in the house for the island’s famous “golden hour.” Located right on the water’s edge at Sunset Boulevard, this café offers a yacht-club vibe without the pretension. It is the perfect hybrid spot: come in the afternoon for a quiet iced coffee while watching the catamarans drift in, and stay for the sunset when the sky turns pink and the vibe switches to a relaxed lounge. It’s breezy, open-air, and captures that quintessential “holiday feeling” that both expats and tourists chase.
