We’re all about helping you unveil its hidden treasures, find useful information, make meaningful connections and create unforgettable memories. Think of us as your visual treasure map, guiding you to the best restaurants, dreamy beaches, chic furniture shops, fabulous hotels or best places to live on the island. Also, swing by our Frolic Meetup page, and you’ll never miss out on epic group hikes, sundowners, or fun catamaran parties. End of 2023, we also launched a matchmaking service, BetterHalf, to connect singles on the island looking for serious relationships.
And that’s just the beginning of our exciting adventure together! We’re always brainstorming fun and exciting ways to bring value to our community, whether it’s by sparking inspiration, creating more opportunities to connect with expats and locals, or promoting a sustainable lifestyle.
Our story
Meet The Founders
Frolic Mauritius came into existence in 2022, a brainchild of Celine Delacharlerie, Pratik Malia, and Sagarika Sarkar. Frolic’s journey began when they bid adieu to the hustle and bustle of urban life in Singapore to embrace the tranquil beauty of Mauritius.
Leaving behind the fast-paced city lifestyle, they were captivated by the island’s peaceful charm. But they also wanted to find ways to connect with the local community and explore all the island had to offer. Feeling frustrated by the lack of online information about this hidden gem, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
This is how the concept of Frolic Sundowner meetups came into being, alongside the development of the Frolic website, informative newsletters, and vibrant social media pages that consistently keep everyone informed about the island’s hottest events and hidden gems.
We are also pleased that our friend Shivani, Lecturer at the University of Mauritius and an early supporter of our work, has joined the board. She brings her extensive local knowledge and network as Mauritian to help Frolic achieve its vision.
Through our meetups, we met many singles sharing how difficult it is to find love on the island. Having gone through this journey ourselves, we were passionate to help them find their matches. This is how the idea of the matchmaking service BetterHalf came to life end of 2023.
