1. The Kovil Montagne Sri Siva Subramanya temple (center)

The Kovil Montagne Sri Siva Subramanya temple, located on the flanks of the Corps de Garde Mountain in Quatre Bornes, is now an art piece and a major pilgrimage site in Mauritius, playing host to numerous festivals and monthly celebrations throughout the year.  And it’s also a beautiful place for a mystic aerial shot like no other.

2. The Underwater Waterfall (South)

Just off the coast of Le Morne peninsula, you can spot the fascinating “underwater waterfall”. This optical illusion created by Mother Nature is caused by currents pulling sand out into the deep sea, making it look like there is a waterfall under the water. This illusion can only be observed from the sky.

3.  Tamarin Bay (West)

With the mountains in the background, the sea, the beach, the river and the trees, and also the rainbow in the sky, this shot from the sky has it all and looks unreal.

4.  At the top of one of the 137 mountains

Mauritius has 137 named mountains. Hiking one and taking a drone picture of yourself at the top is definitely a MUST.

5.  Aaerial view of one of the 49 islets

There are 49 islets surrounding Mauritius from where you can take stunning pictures. This shot has been taken at Ile aux Fouquets and captures the beauty of the lagoon but also the mountains behind.

6. Luxury resorts

Take a sneak peak at the huge luxury resots of Mauritius with your drone photography.  For example, the Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa in the first picture below is definitely inviting. And Ile des Deux Cocos, an island resort, does really look like paradise.

7. Maconde Point (South)

Considered as one of the 10 most beautiful roads in the world, the Macondé Road located between Le Morne and Baie du Cap, offers spectacular views from the road, but also from the sky…

8. The pyramids near Plaine Magnien (South)

You might have spot them on the way to the airport: 7 pyramids can be found near Plaine Magnien.  Their origin and meaning is not very clear and a lot of hypothesis have been made around them. .  Remarkably, they would be identical to the ones found on the island of Tenerife. This shot captures 4 of the 7 pyramids.

9. Chamarel road (South)

If Chamarel road is famous for being one of the best road trips in Mauritius, amid lush vegetation and with beautiful viewpoints along the way, it’s also a great road to take stunning photos with a drone.

Many of them are actually located in surprising places, just off the main road, like this one, which offer an interesting contrast. And of course, the most iconic waterfalls of Mauritius are the Chamarel Waterfall and the 7 Cascades / Seven Waterfalls.
