On Tuesday, 17 February 2026, from 4:00 PM, experience an unforgettable cultural gala at the Trianon Convention Centre, 2 Trianon Avenue, Mauritius, featuring a renowned Chinese performance troupe from Sichuan, China. This special show is backed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Arts and Culture of Mauritius, and the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius, and co-organised with the China Cultural Center in Mauritius, highlighting deep cultural ties and artistic exchange. Expect vibrant traditional performances that bring the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year to life on stage, with limited seats available — so early registration is encouraged.

On the auspicious first few days of the Lunar New Year, visit the Pagodas to pray for good luck, safety, prosperity, happiness, and well-being for your loved ones. Visiting a pagoda in the spring has become a valued custom for Chinese people from all around the world. 

1. Kwan Tee Pagoda- Port Louis

The Kwan Tee or Guan Di Pagoda is one of the oldest pagodas in Port Louis, Mauritius situated in a peaceful location overlooking the sea. It’s a very beautiful location with greenery everywhere and you will see people praying there. It’s a must-visit place during the spring festival and if you are lucky you might get to see the Dragon and Lion dance at the pagoda. 

2. Thien-Thane Pagode- Port Louis

If you are taking a stroll in Chinatown Port Louis, then do not forget to drop by this beautiful pagoda situated just 2 km away from Chinatown. Situated on the foothill of a mountain Thien-Thane Pagode is one of the most beautiful pagodas in Mauritius surrounded by beautiful nature and a peaceful ambiance. A perfect spot to meditate and enter the new year with positivity and mindfulness. 

3. Fook Soo Am Pagoda- Port Louis

Quite popular among the local Mauritian Chinese community, this pagoda should definitely be on your bucket list if you want to experience the non-touristy and local Chinese culture.  A peaceful location with many local Chinese people praying there.
