Dimashk moved to Trianon and is an absolute dream for anyone craving authenticity, featuring heavy hitters like the aromatic Mandi and Kabsa, the theatrical clay-pot delight of Shish Fakhara, and traditional Couscous that warms the soul. What makes this place special, however, is the effortless inclusivity; despite the meat-centric classics, the vegetarian options such as mezzes with falafel, hummous, patata harra, baba ganoush, moutabel or muhammara remain rich and plentiful, aligning perfectly with a more sustainable approach to dining where everyone has a seat at the table.

Au Feu de Bois (Center)

Au Feu de Bois offers a taste of authentic Turkish cuisine in the heart of Mauritius, specializing in their signature Lamb Cag Kebab served in warm, freshly baked pita bread alongside uniquely curved chips. What sets Au Feu de Bois apart is their commitment to traditional cooking methods: pita bread is baked in a wood-fired clay oven, while succulent lamb is grilled horizontally over flames, infusing each bite with smoky goodness. With a falafel option, the menu is vegetarians friendly! Situated in Tribecca Mall and opened less than one year ago, this fast-food gem delivers on flavor despite its higher price point for a food court venue. While waiting times can be lengthy during peak hours, especially on weekends, you’ll be rewarded with exceptional taste and quality. Au Feu de Bois may be a bit of a splurge, but it promises an unforgettable Turkish dining experience that rivals even the best eateries in Turkey itself.

Ti Couscous Bar (Cascavelle)

Head over to the West Coast at Cascavelle Shopping Village for a heartwarming stop at Ti Couscous, a vibrant spot bringing the soulful flavors of Algeria straight to Mauritius. This isn’t just a quick bite; it’s a dive into North African comfort food where the star of the show is, naturally, the hand-rolled couscous—steamed to fluffy perfection and served with rich, aromatic broths. While the Royal Couscous with merguez and chicken is a crowd-pleaser for meat lovers, the Vegetable Couscous stands out as a hearty, plant-forward champion, brimming with slow-cooked garden produce that makes sustainable dining feel indulgent. Beyond the grains, they also offer Algerian pancakes (Baghrir) and Algerian street food (Bourak) or the tacos (Kefta Sandwitch). It’s authentic and offers a delicious reminder that great food doesn’t need to be complicated to be memorable.

Forget the greasy late-night mystery wraps; here, the magic lies in the details—specifically the homemade bread, baked fresh daily to be the perfect fluffy-yet-crispy vessel. It is considered the best kebab in Mauritius.
