Tiroir aux Souvenirs 2
Tiroir aux Souvenirs 2 is a tribute event celebrating the enduring legacy of local musical icons, featuring evergreen music, jazz standards, and Mauritian music. Scheduled for August 31 and September 1, 2024, at the Caudan Arts Center, this event aims to honor artists who have significantly shaped Mauritius’ musical heritage.
Following a sold-out debut in September 2023, this second edition will showcase an impressive lineup of seasoned performers including Vishal Mungroo, Denis Azor, Ras Natty Baby, and Yvon Adele, among others. The event will also pay homage to three influential Mauritian jazz musicians who have passed away: Ernest Wiehé, Noel Jean, and René Louise.
The program, conducted in English, French, Hindi, and Mauritian Creole, will feature over two hours of live music by esteemed artists such as Georges Grenouille, Gaetan Rivet, and Jean Dindoyal, delivering a vibrant mix of musical styles and unforgettable performances.
