Things to do this weekend in Mauritius:

1. The Steps Festival at Astroea Beach

Indulge yourself in the vibrant and colorful culture of Mauritius at Astroea Beach on 25th March, from 6 pm -11 pm. At this special evening event, you will get to experience a variety of activities and presentations on the magnificent island. You will encounter Mauritius’ traditional dance performances, learn about the history and culture of this island, and also have an amazing opportunity if you want to experience the bold and exotic flavors of Mauritian cuisine. You will also find local artisans displaying many unique and interesting artworks and handicrafts. If you are traveling here or recently moved to Mauritius then you shouldn’t miss out on this super exciting event.

2. Awanam White Party

On 24th March Awanam Beachclub is organizing a white-themed party from 5 pm – 2 am at the beautiful Tamarin Veranda Hotel. Wear your favorite white clothes and dance all night long to the music of some cool Djs and drink your favorite cocktail along with it. There will be a make-up artist present at the venue to do glitter art. Have a razzle-dazzle evening and find out more about the event here

3. Sunshine In a Glass

A super fun event is organized by  Groove Boat on 25th March from 11 am to 6 pm, especially for the residents of the West of Mauritius. Party on a cool boat in the middle of the sea with chilled beverages and nice music performed by a DJ. Plan is very simple:

1. Embark on the Grooveboat at 11 am, pick up point is the jetty next to Le Morne anglers club
2. The groove boat dinghy will come to pick you up at the jetty (10 pax)
3. After embarking everyone, the boat will then move to tamarin bay and anchor where lunch will be served. The DJs will then do their thing on the music machines and the body grooving can start. 
4. Around sunset we move back to anchorage in Riviere Noire.
5. 6 pm We close the party and the dinghy will bring you back to shore.

4. WAVES: BACK TO THE 90S

Get back in time to the ’90s and enjoy a super fun party on the top hits music of the 90’s by WAVES by Tamarina at Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel on 25th March from 1 pm to 11 pm. There will be a line-up of some talented Djs who will play your favorite 90’s tracks. 5. BAILA CONMIGO – LATINO NIGHT

This Saturday groove on to the Latin rhythms from Bachata, Conjunto, Latin Pop, Latin Rock, Reggaeton, to Merengue. Get your dancing shoes on and come to Lakaz Cascavelle on 25th March at 7 pm with your friends and enjoy a fun evening.

6. Ti Marse Lokal

The artisan market is back at So’Flo on the 25th (9 am – 9 pm) and 26th of March (9 am – 2 pm). Bring your loved ones and enjoy a chilled afternoon shopping locally made handicrafts, cakes, plants, decorative items, and many more.

7. Adilsons Anime Fest at La City Trianon

This is for all anime lovers, gaming freaks, and pop culture lovers, an exclusive event by Adilsons for 3 days 24th, 25th and 26th march at La City Trianon from 10 am to 5 pm. Amazing anime merch or exclusive Adilsons gear, they have got you covered. So make sure to stop by and check out their wide range of products. They will also be hosting a cosplay event during the weekend. Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer or just starting out, come and show off your skills and win amazing prizes. 8. Food and Craft Market by Oficea

Discover delicious food products and unique handmade crafts by local exhibitors on 24th March from 11 am – 2 pm at Vivea Business Park, Moka. You will find:

9. Live dan Moka

Enjoy a musical evening at the historic site Eureka – La Maison Creole located in Moka on 24th March from 8 pm onwards. Many regional artists will be performing and super-talented musician Philippe Thomas Syndicate will perform jazz music, and Shekina Mootanah, in the first part, will play her solo compositions on the grand piano of the Maison de l’Étoile. 10. Game Night at Kenzi Bar – Flic En Flac

Board games lovers visit Kenzi Bar in Flic en Flac on 25th March from 7 pm – 12 am an event by Board Gamers Mauritius.  Come with your friends and play many types of board games that are available there.

11. DRINK & DRAW – SPACE THEMED 

Visit Vanilla Village Mauritius on 26th March, from 16:00 to 19:30, and create art while enjoying nice music and chilled beverages. This time they are doing a space-themed drawing session. If something like this makes you interested then join.  Price 1500rs – including all materials (real canvas, brushes, paint, etc.), wine, soft drinks, snacks, supervision of professional artists, and stunning atmosphere!

12. Ecstatic Dance  Festival- Dance Under the Stars

The infamous ecstatic dance festival is again back this Saturday, the 25th of March at Green Village from 5 pm – 8 pm. Come and enjoy this spiritual awakening experience through dance and ecstatic music performed by a talented Dj under the stars at a very beautiful spot just next to the majestic mountain Le Morne. The event will start with a sacred cacao ceremony followed by a shamanic sound healing. Wear something light and comfortable and get your tickets as soon as possible. The ticket is for Rs1200.
