Unsurprisingly, Mauritius has seen a steady increase in pizza places and restaurants in recent years, much to the delight of the island’s gourmands. Frolic organized a Vegetarian-friendly Pizza Crawl Meetup in Tamarin\/Black River, <\/a>where we tried and rated many vegetarian pizzas; we will mention the results in our article. Big news for the island\u2019s foodie family! Our favorite slice of Italy, <\/span>Il Padrino<\/span>, has officially packed up its pizza ovens from Black River and made the exciting move to <\/span>Flic en Flac<\/span> (you can find them settled in at the Oasis Complex)!<\/span> If you\u2019ve been chasing that holy grail of pizza\u2014the kind with a perfectly charred, pillowy cornicione<\/i> (crust) and a beautifully light, melting middle\u2014this is it. We at Frolic\u00a0have done the “hard work” of taste-testing across the island, and we can confidently crown theirs as the most authentic, traditional Neapolitan-style pizza in Mauritius.<\/p>

La Casa Nostra- Pizzas Au Feu De Bois (Tamarin)<\/h3>
\u00a0<\/b>Located within walking distance from Tamarin Public beach and just opposite the Salines is this most highly reviewed pizzeria. Previously a Chinese shop, it was later renovated into a restaurant. What makes La Casa Nostra special is their cooking over a wood fire, use of top-quality fresh products as well as their highly qualified team, led by their very friendly director manager Eric Imbert. They have a full array of special Italian Pizzas from their house specialty Al Miele, Pescatore, Napolitan, and many more. They have a Vegetarian-friendly menu as well along with fresh salads, and pasta. They offer a pleasant setting and a nice collection of fine wine too.
