Whether you’re new to the community or you’ve been a regular to our meetups\, we hope to see you there ! \n\n\n\nEvent Details:\n\n Date: Sunday\, 14th of July\n Timing: A 7 hour cruise from 9am to 4pm. Meeting at 8:45am.\n Departure Location: Oh Well! store\, Grand Baie.\n\n\n\nPlease note that we will organize a minivan from Tamarin\, passing through the center\, to the departure location. More details will be shared in a dedicated WhatsApp group for the event. We’ll negotiate the best price\, which will be charged separately. \n\n\nHighlights:\n\nVisit Gabriel Island for the white sands and for swimming in the beautiful warm clear waters\nAnchor at Coin De Mire for snorkelling\, with equipment provided.\nSail with the best rated catamaran company TopCat.\nMusic and dancing and unforgettable moments on the catamaran dance floor.\nMore surprises to ensure everyone gets a chance to connect with each other!\n\nF&B:\nIn keeping with the ethos\, all our events are eco sensitive and sustainable (as much as possible) hence food is vegetarian. \n\n\nMorning coffee\, tea and breakfast snack.\nLunch: Cantonese Rice with vegetables \, Mixed Raw salads \, Sauteed Vegetables \, Veg burger and Veg sausage\, Dessert Fresh fruit\nComplimentary beverages throughout the event\, including free-flow soft drinks\, still & sparkling water\, refreshing juices\, wine\, chilled local beers\, and local rum cocktails.\n\n\nRegistration:\nFill up this form to register. \n\nPricing:\nThe retail cost of TopCat is Rs 3500 but we have been able negotiate to Rs 2700 on basis of bulk booking and vegetarian food. DESCRIPTION:Hey there\, \nAfter a beautiful trail to Senneville Waterfalls and natural pool that Stéphane helped us to discover\, our next Meet & Trek\, initially planned on 21st of April\, will be postponed to 5th of May and we’ll climb Piton de la Petite Rivière Noire. \nMeeting Time: 9 AM\nMeeting Point: 300 m below the parking lot of Gorges viewpoint. Click here to find the starting point on Google Maps (-20.423329\, 57.426400). A few parking slots are available there. \nThe hike presents no difficulty except for the final ascent that requires the assistance of a rope\, but rest assured the rope is already in place. Located just after the very touristy viewpoint of the Rivière Noire waterfalls\, on the road to Plaine Champagne towards Chamarel\, the hike starts in a kind of Mauritius undergrowth and is more like a walk; moving at a leisurely pace\, the round trip will take us a total of 3 hours. \nIdeal for hikers who want to escape the sun\, as for almost the entire hike you enjoy shaded areas. However\, this presents a major inconvenience in case of rain. As the route consists of a series of small ascents and descents\, sort of basins form and the water does not drain\, creating a real mud bath. Nothing insurmountable of course! However\, note that we will postpone the trek if it has rained on the night before or it’s forecasted to rain on the day itself. We’ll keep you updated on our Frolic Meetup Whatsapp Group. \nDuring the ascent\, you will have the opportunity at certain points to observe the Rivière Noire waterfalls\, you will also have a first viewpoint halfway\, and of course a magnificent view of the Rivière Noire Bay\, Le Morne and its lagoon once the ascent is completed. \nDue to its great simplicity\, this hike is a must-do\, it will be an opportunity to boast to your friends about having been to the highest summit of Mauritius. \nBring some water\, snacks\, and your adventurous spirit. With a “difficult” rating\, it includes 4-5 rope sections and stretches with no shade\, which is why we are starting early. But fear not\, the effort is worth it. This mountain is known for its stunning views. You’ll be treated to the best view of the entire western region of Mauritius. \nThe trail is accessible only through a private land. SUMMARY:Frolic Meet & Trek #4 on Sunday 22nd of October : South Coast Trail
DESCRIPTION:Let’s discover together the South Coast Trail (from Le Souffleur to La Cambuse). With an elevation gain of 23 meters only\, the trail offers breathtaking views all along. The trail is meandering along rugged cliffs of the south coast. It stays near the coast except for a diversion around a private estate at Ile Brocus that will take you through the sugar cane. You’ll pass by Virginia Garden\, le Pont Naturel\, Ilôt Brocus\, Le Bouchon Public Beach and Forêt des Palmiers Géants. \n\n\nDuration: About 4-5 hours in total\, to go and come back\, according to Google Maps. It’s possible to take a taxi mid-way\, from the Shandrani Beachcomber resort. \n\n\nMeeting Point: The starting point is from Le Souffleur viewpoint. Finding your way to the trail at Le Souffler can be a challenge\, as described in this article : In L’Escalier the turn off is on the south side and is marked by a rusty sign that says Le Souffler. This road is also the entrance to the local Omnicane industrial complex. As you near the facilities there is another sign guiding you towards Le Souffler. Continue on the road right through the center of the facilities. The road is generally marked as it passes through sugarcane towards the coast. If in doubt\, just follow the clearest road and you will find your way there. You will reach a building and a black gate that says Le Souffler 6am-6pm. DESCRIPTION:Let’s discover together the trek along the Tamarind Falls (7 Cascades) waterfall\, which is one of the most iconic and popular treks in Mauritius. Although hiking to Tamarind Falls is one of the best things to do in Mauritius\, it’s clearly not for the faint of heart! The hike can be challenging at times! The trail is very steep and can be slippery. \nTake your swimming suit with you\, as you may get tempted to jump into the emerald pools. \nIt’s not recommended to do this hike after rain so we will cancel the trek or select another location in case of rain the day before or on the day itself. Stay updated on our Whatsapp group! \n\n\nDuration: About 4 hours in total\, to go and come back \n\nMeeting Point: The starting point is in the village of Henrietta. There is no parking lot. Here is the exact GPS location of the road next to the cemetery where you can leave your car.
